Born in Mozambique, Rui Branquinho moved to Brazil when he was four years old. He graduated from ESPM - Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing - and began his career at DPZ. Following a brief period at Y&R, Branquinho opened his agency in 2000, Cápsula, which, after a short time, became TBWA\Cápsula. He then moved on to work at W/Brasil where he started as a copywriter and, seven years later, became Creative & Planning Co-President. In 2001, Branquinho also developed several projects for Globo.com, one of which was Paparazzo - a popular website that is the leader in terms of ratings. For two years he held a pro bono position as Marketing Director of SPFC - São Paulo Futebol Clube - his great passion and third biggest football team in Brazil.
In 2011 he returned to Y&R as Chief Creative Officer where he remained until June 2016. In 2017 he joined Dentsu Aegis Network, and since then he is Chief Creative Officer Brazil.
During his professional career, Branquinho has accumulated more than 50 Lions at Cannes and has additionally been awarded in other prestigious national and international festivals such as Andy, D&AD, Clio, NYF, and LIA.
